The first Tuesday of December is Giving Tuesday, a national day for people to support nonprofit organizations in their local communities through volunteer work, making a donation or giving back in other ways.
For 2016’s Giving Tuesday, we’re asking you to support our Piggy Bank & Paint Project, to help us ignite the passion for saving and creating a future of financial stability in 100 youth from low-income neighborhoods in 2017. Students will attend an interactive 2-hour workshop followed by lunch and then decorating their piggy banks. The project will also work with local Philadelphia artists to help teach the youth how to let their creativity and individuality shine through.
Help us raise $4,500 to fully fund this project!
- Each workshop costs $1,619 to conduct (including all supplies, lunch and artist fees).
- This is for youth residing in the top 20 zip codes in Philly with the highest rates of poverty.
- Participation in this project is FREE for youth in the targeted zip codes.
- Research shows that youth who are actively engaged in learning about money management are better prepared and able to handle financial bumps in the road. Learn more on our blog and on our social media platforms.
