Mr. Yusuf Azizullah

Yusuf is CEO of Global Board Advisors Corp (GBAC), an International Board advisory firm providing customized Signature Boardroom Education courses & bringing insights from leading International boardrooms. He created a Platinum League of Audit Committee Chairs providing confidential advice on Strategy & Risk Oversight to Board members. Yusuf is an active NACD member, conference speaker and credentialed directors “Governance Fellow.” During his 14-year career he has advised DOW 30, International boards in Australia & Europe, global 50 Financial Institutions, hedge funds & Fortune 500 in the Financial Services, Mortgage, Insurance, Retail, Technology, Media, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Healthcare, Services, Legal, Defense & Telecom industries. He provided Boardroom perspective editing comments to the COSO Governance Framework’s revision released 2013 as a member of the Financial Executives International (FEI) Association. COSO is used by NYSE & NASDAQ listed companies in determining Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICFR). Mr. Azizullah teaches adjunct global strategy courses at the University of Maryland’s Smith’s School of Business. He has taught Ethics & Compliance to Chinese Chairman & Board members visiting the United States. and International Finance courses at the Johns Hopkins University. He sits on the Board of Directors for Building Community Bridges & Independent director meeting NYSE & NASDAQ Audit Committee Requirements. He holds a B.Sc. in Finance, MBA Management & MS Management Information Systems (MIS) honors and Executive Education management courses from the Harvard Business School.


Mrs. Yvonne E. Bates - Brinkley

Yvonne Bates has over 30 years of work experience in the Financial Services Industry. She is currently an Officer at The Glenmede Trust Company where she is the Fund Administrator for the Alternative Investment Products. Prior to working at Glenmede, Yvonne worked as an Investment Analyst for several prestigious companies including Delta Air Lines, Inc., SunAmerica Asset Management, LLC, and Amalgamated Bank. Earlier in her career, she worked at Merrill Lynch and Dreyfus Corporation. She has an M.B.A in Finance from Kennesaw State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Boston University.


Mr. Alan Vergel de Dios

Alan is an investment professional at Boathouse Capital, a private equity firm that manages $350 million. At Boathouse, he is responsible for deal structuring and execution and portfolio management. Prior to Boathouse, Alan worked in the investment banking group of Stifel, Nicolaus & Co., providing corporate advisory services around mergers and acquisitions and capital raising to companies across various industries. He graduated from McGill University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with Honors.


Mr. Michael DeMaio

Michael DeMaio is Director of Pricing at SAP, a global leader in enterprise business software. In this role, Michael provides deal structuring support for large and complex software transactions, while ensuring these transactions are complaint with SAP’s licensing policies. Previously, Michael has held various financial planning and analysis roles at SAP and the Bank of New York Mellon. Michael has an MBA from Villanova University and a BS in Economics from Drexel University.  Michael resides in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania with his wife and three children.


Ms. Lacey Dickinson

Lacey is an Employer Liaison at District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund, a nonprofit organization located in Philadelphia, She is a graduate of Swarthmore College.


Ms. Sadija A. Fields

Sadija is Capital Area Asset Builders' (CAAB) Director of Programs. In this role she is responsible for the operational oversight and success of all of CAAB’s programming components along with providing direct supervisory responsibilities for all associated staff.  She is 15-year veteran within the Human Service and Non-Profit community, serving in both management and direct service positions. During her successful and impactful career, Sadija has gained valuable experience in areas such as Workforce Development, Housing and Homeless Services, Case Management, Data Management, Staff Training and Development, Program Evaluation and Quality Control. Sadija has a BA from West Virginia State University and MBA from Strayer University. She was born and raised in Philadelphia and currently resides in Maryland.

Mr. Brian M. Giillespie

Brian is Vice President, Forecasting and Financial Excellence for Comcast Cable.  In his role, Brian is responsible for staff planning, financial forecasting, reporting as well as leading various projects within Comcast to drive results. Brian is an experienced, results-oriented executive with a superior track record in increasing the profitability of existing businesses, creating new businesses and business opportunities, achieving world-class sales and customer service, creating positive work environments, and optimizing company performance through asset, resource and operational management.  His experience spans the globe in marketing product and services, for both large and small customer care organizations, and has received numerous awards for his innovative and effective achievements. Brian has previously served on the Board of Victory Christian Center in Austin, TX. With his wife, Brian has provided financial and career planning services, with an emphasis, to underserved minority populations from low income and first generation (to attend college) families for over fifteen years. Brian is an author of a marriage self-help book and volunteers regularly at his home church in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Comcast, Brian held positions with Charter Communications, Destination Excellence (a management consulting company specializing in customer care), Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and AT&T.  Brian has a Bachelors in Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.  He and his wife have three children. Currently, he resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife of 31 years, Kris.


Mrs. Ami J. Shah

Ami is the Director of Communications for Bio-Pharm Inc., a rapidly growing manufacturer of generic pharmaceutical products. She also founded and owns Cacao Chaos (with her husband), a gourmet chocolatier specializing in South-Asian inspired bonbons. Prior to these roles, she serves as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Jordan and then as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department with tours of duty in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the Philippines and India. Ami holds BS degrees in Political Science and International Studies from Northwestern University and a MA in Media Studies from The New School. She lives in Philadelphia with her husband and son.


Mr. Thomas A. Spratt, Jr.

Thomas is Corporate Counsel at Hewlett-Packard and was formerly  Corporate Counsel and Director of Contracts at POPTENT, INC.,a start-up, technology business that focuses on the production of digital content in the advertising space.


Mrs. Tosha Shepard- Washington

Tosha currently serves as the Marketing Project and Programs Manager for AAA Colorado, where she is responsible for the day-to-day management of marketing activities, as well as budget management and business planning for Membership Marketing. Her previous professional experience has been in coordinating Direct Response Ad Sales in the cable industry. She graduated from Colorado State University with a BA in Technical Journalism/Public Relations and a certificate in Ethnic Studies with an emphasis on African American Studies. Mrs. Washington lives with her husband, in Denver Colorado. 


Mrs. Patricia Thorell

Patty Thorell had an extensive experience financial operations at Comcast Cable Communications. In her role as Vice President of Cable Cash Management, she led the development, support and operations of more than 23,000,000 payment transactions per month.  During her 29 year career at Comcast, Patty was responsible for transition and integration of payment technologies and products.  Patty had broad experience on cross functional projects, working closely with internal customer service and technology disciplines.  She also maintained a broad network of financial services partners and providers.  Patty initiated the Comcast NBC Universal Payment Council with the objective of bringing together the diverse the Comcast Corporation divisions to internally benchmark, share best practices, and have a concentrated forum for payment industry education.  Patty has been an active member of Women in Cable Television (WICT), serving as a mentor and was a fellow of the WICT Betsey Magness Leadership Institute.   Since retiring in 2016, Patty remains connected to the payment industry through continued participation in the Association of Financial Professional (AFP), and is on the Board of Advisors of Transactis, a financial technology provider.   Additionally, Patty serves on the board of St. Joseph the Protector School.  

Patty is a Philadelphia native, graduating from LaSalle University with a degree in Accounting.  She and her husband remain in the area, enjoying the richness of the Philadelphia, traveling in the United States and exploring Europe.  They also frequently visit their adult son in Manhattan.


Mr. Daniel Wachtel

Daniel is a founding partner at Harbor Capital Partners, and is an expert business consultant helping clients with business planning, investments, financial forecasting, modeling and various aspects of business growth, development, and sales execution. He is also a motivational speaker for major companies and universities. Mr. Wachtel has helped capitalize and launch many private companies totaling over $175 million for clients.  Mr. Wachtel also advises clients on brand marketing, social media campaigns, investor relations,  capital raising needs, and strategic relationship introductions.  Mr. Wachtel received a Bachelors of Finance degree from William Paterson University's Cotsakos College of Business.

Mr. Wachtel started his career at Bear, Stearns and Oppenheimer & Co. in New York City as a financial analyst and wealth advisor. Daniel has also worked as an investment advisor at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley helping manage over $250 million in assets for clients.  Prior, Mr. Wachtel has held various analyst & associate positions at a large hedge fund and investment bank where he continually outpaced the market with his personal value investing strategy. Mr. Wachtel taught his value strategy for Advanced Investor's Business Daily classes in Philadelphia.  


MS. INGRID R. SHEPARD* (Ex-Oficio)

Ms. Shepard is the Executive Director of The One Less Foundation and is an ex-oficio member of the board. Ingrid is the owner of Shepard Consulting LLC, a firm that provides advisory services to the Federal government, banks and financial institutions on matters related to U.S. Anti-Money Laundering laws and related compliance issues. Ms. Shepard’s professional experience includes employment at Merrill Lynch and the Bank of New York specializing in legal, compliance and international taxation. Ms. Shepard has also worked as a Tax Associate at Ernst and Young, LLP and Global Tax Network specializing in expatriate taxes. Ms. Shepard was born and raised in Denver, CO and moved to Philadelphia, PA, in 2002 where she currently resides. Ms. Shepard attended Texas A & M University. She is also President of the Board of Directors of the Germantown Special Services District (GSSD) a municipal authority, that governs the central Germantown business corridor.
